"Offering help is courageous and compassionate, but so
is asking for help." - Brené Brown
Over the last two decades, I've had the privilege of coming alongside and providing consultation for churches, nonprofits, universities, as well as families. My clinical experience has been enriched by theological education and in-the-trenches applications both locally and abroad. From training local churches to address the mental health needs of their congregation to shaping programs and policies for genocide survivors in Rwanda, my passion is to help individuals and organizations clarify and courageously live out their mission.
I ♥ WORKING WITH CHURCHES.
As a Christian counselor, I believe that local churches can play an integral healing role in their community. Over the years, I've been able to help pastors and church leaders address a variety of issues from a biblically-based and clinically-informed perspective. Here are some some of the common questions that I provide consultation for:
What Is A Biblical Response To Abuse?
How Can Our Church Be Trauma-Informed?
How Can We Support Someone Who's Suicidal?
How Can We Decipher Between Spiritual Attack And Mental Health Concerns?
How Can Leaders Model Healthy Vulnerability?
I ♥ WORKING WITH NON-PROFITS.
Over the years, I've worked with non-profits that care for diverse populations of houseless youth, survivors of sex trafficking, foster families, and the LGBTQIA+ community. From advising programing to directing advocacy efforts, I love coming alongside organizations and helping them clarify and accomplish their mission.
I ♥ WORKING WITH FAMILIES.
Of all my roles, my greatest by far is being a mother. Over the years, I've offered consultation to families who feel overwhelmed by traumatic events and mental health challenges. Here is a list of issues that I've helped families navigate:
Parenting Minor Children With Mental Health Needs
Crafting Clinical Support Plans For Family Members
Helping Friends Or Family Who Are Experiencing Abuse
Supporting Adult Children With Mental Health Needs
Helping Families Navigate Major Life-Transitions
I ♥ WORKING WITH UNIVERSITIES.
Borrowing from my clinical experience and theological education, I have had the honor of guest lecturing in a number of universities. Here are a list of programs that I've had the privilege of offering consultation for:
Master's Level Social Work (George Fox University)
Human Trafficking (Warner Pacific University)
Counseling Women In Pain (Western Seminary)
Master's Level Psychology (George Fox University)
